Freemasonry is the known to be the oldest, largest Fraternity in the world. Who becomes a Mason?

Anyone and every one, be he an accountant, businessman, teacher, contractor, Professional or a labourer. Masons come from all walks of life and levels of socioeconomic strata. They represent every race, creed and culture. In masonry it doesn't matter whether a person is a Physician, a waiter, a mayor or a bricklayer. In the Lodge room , all are on equal footing.

Masonry is always willing to welcome good men in its fraternity. If you consider to become a mason, try to answer the following questions within your heart:

  • Do you believe that there is such a thing as honour and that a man has a responsibility to act with honour in everything he does?

  • Do you believe in God?

  • Are you willing to allow others the same right to their own beliefs that you insist on yourself?

  • Do you believe that you have a responsibility to leave the world a better place than you found?

  • Do you believe that it is not only more blessed to give than to receive, it is also more pleasure?

  • Are you willing to give help to your brothers when they need it and accept it when you need it?

  • Do you feel that there is something more to life than your financial success? 

  • Do you believe that a person should strive to be a good citizen and that we have a moral duty to be true to the country in which we live?

  • Do you agree that the man should show compassion for others, that goodness of heart is among the most important of all human values?

  • Do you believe that men should strive to live a brotherly life?

If you have answered 'YES', you must seriously consider becoming a mason.

If you wish to become the member of Masonic fraternity, you have to take into account the following:

  • You must be a man of at least 21 years of age.

  • You must believe in God.

  • You must be of good moral character.

  • You must be loyal to your country.

  • You must be the resident of local area for at least one year.

  • You must decide to become mason of 'Your own free will & accord'.

  • You should afford the initiation fees and annual dues without hardship to yourself or your family.

  • You should have time to participate in Lodge activities.

  • You must have sincere determination to conduct yourself in such a manner that will earn the respect of others.

  • You must have desire to help others.

  • You will need to express your personal interest in joining the fraternity.
